The Brownhooded Kingfisher Trail is an easy stroll following the meandering course of the Duiwe River. This trail is especially popular among bird watchers as sightings of the long-crested eagle, peregrine falcon and may other species of birds are quite common. The 4.1km trail is suitable for any fitness level, with the most challenging part being an optional climb to a viewpoint. The path is surrounded by a flourishing forest and you will cross the river several times via stepping stones and a wooden bridge. A beautiful rock pool is the perfect place for a picnic and a refreshing swim before you follow the path back the way you came.
