Situated halfway between George and Mossel Bay, Glentana is principally a holiday village that only becomes busy during the major school holidays. For the rest of the year you will have this seemingly deserted and untouched beach all to yourself. A 123m-long ship with a weight of 4 500 tons went aground at Glentana beach in 1902. One can walk to the shipwreck offshore and explore caves above the beach. The walk to the wreck is relatively easy. One has to walk to the caves at low tide, so be careful to check the tides and plan your excursion beforehand.
