Ten minutes East of Knysna lies a secluded cove boasting a pristine beach and a quiet estuary with a large variety of indigenous flora and fauna. Noetzie is perhaps best known for the eclectic castles that adorn the hills surrounding the small beach. You’re going to have to “earn” a day on this beautiful beach as the only access is via 116 steps down from the parking area. Old Wagon road is a 220m municipal road down to the beach. You can walk down this road, but it may not always be accessible to vehicles and there is no parking at the bottom and very little turning-space. Public toilets at the bottom of the road gets its water from the lagoon, so be sure to take your own drinking water and refreshments.
