Jump from an aeroplane and experience the incredible feeling of freefall.
Experience skydiving in South Africa
Do you want to know what it feels like to Tandem skydive in South Africa? Jump from an aeroplane and experience the incredible feeling of freefall.
A skydive from 10,000 feet or 14,000 feet with a tandem instructor.
You are attached to the tandem instructor by a special harness and jump out the plane together. The instructor wears the specifically designed tandem parachute on his back and is in control of the exit and freefall.
Once the parachute opens, you can help steer or just relax and enjoy the views while he does all the work.
Tandem skydiving is the most popular way to take your first jump. It allows the curious potential student to experience, first-hand, the thrills of skydiving without the full commitment of Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) or Static Line (S/L) progression.
Tandem Skydiving in Mossel Bay, South Africa is an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime! Not only will you enjoy all of the thrill and excitement of freefalling on your very first jump, but you’ll also be taking an exhilarating scenic flight over the Mossel Bay area with an eagle-eye view
of the Indian Ocean, the Outeniqua Mountains, and the beautiful beaches between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth! It’s the most scenic place to go tandem skydiving in the Western Cape, along the Garden Route, and near Cape Town.
We have two landing areas, one at the airfield and one at Diaz Beach. Landings at Diaz Beach are weather and tide dependent. Thanks to the nature of the tandem skydive, the formal training required can be kept to a minimum as your personal tandem master
will control the free fall and the parachute descent. However there is some information, and a set of rules, that you need to be familiar with to ensure safety.
By educating you about what to expect in the airplane, how to position your body during free-fall and what to expect when the parachute opens, your fears can be eased and your fun maximized.
When the door finally opens and you exit the aircraft most of our students say their fears stay in the plane and the feeling they are left with they describe only as indescribable! The Tandem Master will be your silent partner, letting you have full control;
or you can just lay back and enjoy the ride.
Since we’re weightless in free fall, you won’t even notice that the Tandem Master is there. Jumping from up to 10,000 ft or 14,000 ft AGL (Above Ground Level), we’ll free fall at 200 – 240 kph for up to 35-50 seconds.
While we “Body Surf” the wind, we can do controlled turns, speed diving, and burn up the sky.
All too quickly you will find the parachute opening and your adrenaline-charged free-fall transitions into a quiet peaceful parachute descent, where you and your instructor can talk and share the moment with you.
During the 5-7 minutes it takes to reach the ground your instructor can provide either a sedate gentle ride to the ground or a more radical roller coaster experience demonstrating spins and stalls as he skillfully pilots you to our landing area.
Static Line Training (S/L)
Learn to parachute with a static line. This method has evolved over more than 30 years from military origins to training sport parachutists.
Students get approximately 6 hours of ground training and jump from about 3500 feet.
Accelerated Free Fall (AFF)
Experience free fall on your very first jump. The AFF program was instituted in 1982 as an “accelerated” learning process as compared to the traditional static line progression.
The AFF program will give you a true taste of modern sport skydiving from the start.
Skydive Mossel Bay welcome experienced fun jumpers to use our coaches and facilities to improve their skills.
All disciplines are welcome: wingsuits, freeflying, formation skydiving and progression students.
We have coaches for various disciplines and we encourage you to bring your team and even your own coach should you wish to do so. Our 7 day a week dropzone and great weather will maximize your training time and
our twin engine turbine aircraft will whisk you to great altitudes in no time.
Skydivers who have made 200 jumps within the past 18 months, may receive one-on-one instruction from a wingsuit coach who is confident in the jumper’s ability and has received a

Our coaches will take you through a 5 level initial wingsuit training course and teach you how to fly a wingsuit. After completing your initial course, you may enrol for the category program where you will be taken through
3 category levels culminating in the category 3 qualification, enabling you to partake in a 4 way wingsuit jump.
We teach basic skills and category skills up to Category 3.
There are FS coaches available for team training that can assist with exit principles and competition formation skydiving basics.
If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own team coach and use our 7 day a week facilities for your team training.
We have an experienced resident Freefly coach available 7 days a week as well as visiting coaches that can be booked with prior arrangement with manifest.
Bring your friends along and jump our King Air turbine aircraft, operated up to 14,000ft. We don’t charge membership fees (although you have to belong to PASA)
We have limited gear rental if you are not able to travel with your gear.
C and D licensed skydivers may be accommodated on one of the beautiful beaches near the dropzone. You will need a briefing from one of our instructors and perform at least one accuracy jump at the dropzone before you can jump at the beach.
(You are entering the domain of the Great White Shark after all!)
Initial Skydive Training
Learn to skydive at South Africa’s most scenic dropzone, Skydive Mossel Bay! Depending on how much time you have, how much cash you’ve got to spend, and how strong your nerves are, you have three options
for your first skydiving course depending on which method of skydiving you prefer for your first jump: Tandem Jumping, Static Line Training (S/L), or Accelerated Free Fall Training (AFF).
These learn to skydive courses vary in that some are designed to give you a quick experience and introduction to skydiving while others start with full blown, first jump courses that will set you on the path to becoming a licensed skydiver.
Consider your options on the different courses. Think about the experience you’ll get out of each of these and your reasons for doing it. Then pick one of the courses. Whichever method you choose to expose yourself to the sport, we know you won’t regret it. You’ll have fun, broaden your horizons and shift your boundaries.
